Your data stays with us. We hold the name, email, phone, and (for orders) shipping address you give us when you get in touch — nothing more. We never combine it with information from anywhere else, never enrich it with third-party data, and never pass it to brokers. Payment details, when an order is placed, are handled by our payment processor and we never see the card number ourselves. We retain order records for tax purposes for the period required by law (typically six years), and contact-form messages for up to two years unless you ask us to delete them sooner. You have the right to access, correct, port, or erase any of it; email us and we will respond within thirty days. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority if you believe we have mishandled your data.
Cookies
Cookies here remember your banner choice and nothing else. We do not run advertising code, and enquiries reach us by email rather than through any tracked form.
Your data
Collectors can ask at any time to see what the gallery holds, have it corrected, or have it removed. Sales records tied to a work’s provenance are the one exception, and we will explain why if it comes up.

Collectors and enquiries
When you enquire about a work we take your name, your email, and whatever you tell us about what you are looking for. Collector interests are commercially sensitive — knowing that someone is pursuing a particular artist has value — so we treat that list as confidential and never publish or trade it.
Artist material
We hold artists' contracts, price lists, production notes, and unreleased images. Unreleased work is embargoed until the artist agrees to show it. Staff and the artist are the only people who see that material before a show opens.
Sales records
A sale generates an invoice, a condition report, and provenance details. Provenance follows a work for its whole life, so these records are permanent — but the buyer's identity within them is disclosed to no one without written permission. Requests for anonymity are normal and we honour them.
Mailing list
We send show announcements only to people who asked to receive them. One unsubscribe click removes you and we do not send a confirmation email afterwards asking you to reconsider.
Retention
Enquiry records are deleted after two years of no contact. Sales and provenance records are kept indefinitely because a work's history matters to its future owners. Contact hello@cedarblendline.com about anything we hold.
Artists' own data
Artists we represent have the same rights over their records as collectors do. Contracts, price history, and unreleased images are theirs to see and, within the limits of our contractual obligations, to have removed.
Who the gallery is
Cedar Blend Line, 〒603-8228 Kyoto, Kyoto City, Kita Ward, Murasakino Higashifunaokacho, 55-1. Telephone +81 75-451-5051, email hello@cedarblendline.com. One person is responsible for how information is handled here, and that person answers this address.
Complaints
If something we said about a work turned out to be wrong, we want to hear it directly rather than through an intermediary. Otherwise write to the address above and you will get a reply within two weeks. You may also raise a matter with the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan.
Changes to this policy
The programme changes each season and this page is revised alongside it. We date each revision rather than editing silently, because collectors reasonably want to know when terms shifted. Last revised 27 July 2026.
Press and institutional enquiries
Journalists and curators who contact us are recorded the same way collectors are — name, outlet, and what they asked about. Press lists are not shared between galleries and we do not sell access to ours.
When an institution requests a loan, we hold correspondence about that request for the life of the loan and its insurance period, then archive it with the work's provenance file.
